Spring Musical Theatre Elite – Chicago Teen Edition

In “Roaring Twenties” Chicago, chorine Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap… until he finds out he’s been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another “Merry Murderess,” Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the “American Dream”: fame, fortune, and acquittal.

Registration Opens May 30th

Students Aged 14- 19 years old will have the opportunity to learn the art of musical theatre, participate in rehearsals, and perform in a full-scale musical production. Through auditions, cast members will be selected for roles in each session’s musical, culminating in a final performance at the end of the session.This program allows first time Musical Theatre performers to work with more experienced cast members. While, all registered receive a role in the show, each person must audition for their role, as auditioning is an invaluable experience and it helps the directorate know where the performer will shine the most. Cast Members have the expectation to move quickly through the material, learning theatrical techniques, skill honing, time management, self-discipline, collaboration and self-discovery.

All person’s registered will be in the show. Role auditions will occur January 9 and 10, 2027.

Rehearsals begin Wednesday January 20, 2027 from 6pm-9pm and will continue weekly until Saturday Rehearsals are added on March 20, 2027. Saturday Rehearsals are 12-4pm.

Additional rehearsals are added the week of the final performances.

Public performances are Friday April 23, 2027 at 7pm and Saturday April 24 2027 at 1pm and 7pm.

School Performance will be scheduled for Friday April 23, 2027. Timing TBA.

Auditions and Rehearsals are at The South Dumfries Historical Society 36 Main St S, St. George.

Technical Rehearsals, Dress Rehearsal and performances are at B.C.I. Auditorium 120 Brant Ave, Brantford
